Principal's Greetings

Greetings from ITE College West (CW).

A warm welcome, I am sure your journey through our website will be an informative and fulfilling one!

CW is a modern campus housing about 8,000 full-time students and 600 staff. Previously based at five satellite campuses (Ang Mo Kio, Balestier, Bukit Batok, Clementi and Dover), we now operate under one roof as one big family at Choa Chu Kang. This regional campus opened its doors to students on 5 July 2010, and was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, on 18 April 2011. When he addressed our students, he spoke about his good impression of them and the facilities in CW: "I just spent 2 hours walking around your campus. You've got great facilities, good students. I enjoyed myself. I wish I were young again. Have a good time and do well in ITE. And go on to do many things in life …"

As a 'College of Service and Innovation', it is our aim to nurture excellent service attitude and cultivate innovative mindset – our blueprint for CW's students and crucial attributes for the global economy.

We support the development of entrepreneurship among students and staff, encourage ventures that provide positive learning values and collaborate with strategic partners to develop innovative programmes and initiatives. These endeavours are complemented by state-of-the-art facilities, to create an authentic learning environment for our students. Our pride and joy includes a 22-room training hotel that has been modelled after some of the finest hotels in Singapore, a fine-dining training restaurant (Amber@West) well-equipped training kitchens, a Barista training centre, comprehensive automotive training workshops, a world class Sports Village and many other amenities.

In addition, the campus boasts a sheltered amphitheatre called The Piazza, a convention centre that comes with a 680-seat auditorium, retail outlets, cafeterias and many other facilities. It is small wonder that CW has become a high traffic landmark in this primarily-residential district.

We are also passionate about the Go Green Movement. Hence the rooftops of our buildings have been converted into the first-of-its-kind foliage gardens. These gardens collect rain water, keeping our buildings cooler and less dependent on air-conditioning. This way, we use lesser electricity. The rain water collected is also recycled for other applications later.

On the educational front, CW offers 37 courses in our four schools: School of Business & Services, School of Engineering, School of Electronics & Info-Communications Technology and School of Hospitality. All of our courses equip students to be work-ready and world-ready. The College stands firm in its commitment to provide students with a solid educational foundation and holistic learning, ensuring they are highly employable and marketable upon graduation.

So, join ITE and make College West your pathway to success!

Warmest Regards,

DR YEK TIEW MING
Principal
